installing slackware

i burned both cd1 and cd2 of the latest slackware version well.. it boots up off the first disc and starts saying its loading like my cdrw drive and dvd drive... then stops on what looks to be my hard drive... does it take a while to install or what? i let it sit for 5 mins and it just sat there on that last thing during setup. is it supposed to do that?

No. It should give you some boot options. Then boot into console mode and from there you should run cfdisk and setup, which should install your slackware without problems. Maybe you have some bad CDs.

Check the ISOs MD5 sum.

once you are asked to logon as root before you type setup enter cfdisk (or fdisk) and away u go. I'd advise avoiding fdisk, little more complicated.
