installing on empty hd

hey

downloaded the v.10 disks, formatted my spare hd (NTFS, 20 gig) to test out linux... disk boots up.. but when I go into cfdisk to make my partitions only the hda is listed (the windows one) ... so how do I make my blank NTFS hard-drive (hdb I think) suitable for the installation?

installing on empty hd

Code:
cfdisk /dev/hdb
tells cfdisk to use that device instead of hda. Typing this from memory so check man cfdisk to be sure.
