Installing mozilla-firefox-1.5.0.1-i686-1.tgz on an i586

Are there any issues installing this on a Pentium 233 (Socket 7) machine running 10.2 (2.4.31)?

What would be the point to making it only available for i686 or better?

Thanks.

you could make your own package
compiling from source for your arch

Yup.
But *.tgz are so much easier...

Compiling on p233 just sucks for some things, Firefox is probably not so bad as I'll soon find out.

Though I still would like to know why the need for i686. This is just a web browser, not an h.264 compressor.

i don't suppose there is a *need*
that is just the arch that
mozilla releases its builds under...

(firefox is probably the longest
build time i've seen on this box)
