Installing mozilla-firefox-1.5.0.1-i686-1.tgz on an i586
Are there any issues installing this on a Pentium 233 (Socket 7) machine running 10.2 (2.4.31)?
What would be the point to making it only available for i686 or better? Thanks. |
you could make your own package
compiling from source for your arch |
Yup.
But *.tgz are so much easier... Compiling on p233 just sucks for some things, Firefox is probably not so bad as I'll soon find out. Though I still would like to know why the need for i686. This is just a web browser, not an h.264 compressor. |
i don't suppose there is a *need*
that is just the arch that mozilla releases its builds under... (firefox is probably the longest build time i've seen on this box) |
