Installing Modem Broadcom Corporation BCM4212


I need help setting up my modem. I have a driver that might work BCMSM-3.4.19-6.i386.rpm
I did rpm2tgz then installpkg. Now what?

I am running Slackware 10.2 with the default kernel 2.4.31.
The current modem symbolic link is: /dev/modem -> ttyS4

/sbin/lspci -vv

If the driver is set up correctly, run "pppsetup" to configure your connection, then "ppp-go" to connect.
