I've recently installed Slackware 11.0 on my laptop, but i am unable to get mouse, Logitech V450, to work (X starts, but i can move mouse pointer only in vertical directions). Has somebody managed it? If yes, please tell me how. I've seen a lot of suggestions and solutions for other distros on the net, but none of them worked for me. I've tried to use evdev driver instead of mouse, but it didn't work (allthough i loaded evdev module). Is this issue related to kernel (i've installed 2.4).
Same thing happen to me with 2.4.x kernel (both my logitech mice), had to use 2.6.x to get it to work. Would be interesting to know if there is another way ? Actually I think there must be. Using DSL (which runs a 2.4.x kernel, my mice work fine ... must be something about the kernel, maybe something is not compiled in ?)

Yeah, i think so too, i tried the mouse on my deskotp machine, where i'm running slackware 10.2 on 2.6.15 kernel and it works without setting anything. Now, i'm trying to compile new, 2.6.20 kernel on the laptop, let's see if it's gonna work, but it'd be ql to hear another solution, which does not involve kernel recompiling
