Hmm... That's odd then. The card is appearing on the PCI, but you say alsaconf does not work? I am assuming that you are using slackware 10.2. I installed mines using the default options? Did you install yours differently?

Can you send the output for modprobe -l? There should be a module for emu10k in the listing. At least there was one in mine.

paulsiu - I think he's just missing the ALSA modules (snd_emu10k1 in particular), since he mentioned recompiling the kernel.

kwikness - As I stated in an earlier post, you need to recompile your kernel and make sure you include all the appropriate ALSA modules.

Then again, the slack kernel should include most/all sound modules already, so it's odd that it wasn't finding it.

On 10.1 (bare.i kernel), it should be here /lib/modules/2.4.29/kernel/sound/pci/emu10k1/snd-emu10k1.o.gz (I know you recompiled, but I assume you tried the default kernel first).

hmmm.. I checked my hard drive. In /lib/modules/2.4.29/kernel/sound/ there is no PCI folder. Does this mean that no PCI card drivers were installed? In the sound folder, it has all the drivers I saw when I typed modprobe -l.

I'm now reformatting and starting fresh. Cross your fingers.
