Unhappy Installing ColdfusionMX 6.1 on Slackware

Anyone here who is able to installl coldfusionmx on slackware 10? the install scripts finishes without error using their built-in webserver (port 8500) but whenever i start to run the server, it hangs. i tried copying the coldfusion start/stop script to /etc/rc.d but it doesnt start it either. I know that their installer was built to run on rpm based distros and some sysv unix and slackware is bsd'ish. i already have this installed on our mandrake in the office but i want to host this on a slackware server for one of our clients. as i am more at ease with slackware than any other distro. i am in the position that have no other choice but to use coldfusion and i am still anxious for the day that we will someday leave this software behind and focus solely on open source technologies. i greatly appreciate any help. thanks
