Installing ANY program
ok guys besides the fact that I don't have sound or am able to use my dual screens this is something that is really really killing me. I can't install programs even basic flash so that I can view web pages with any type of motion. Or even possible get my g-force driver. I heard someone tell I need to make packages and all of this other stuff can someone give me a crash course or maybe even a tutorial? I would have almost been stuck not being able to change my background. (downloading a picture and setting it as a background). Not configure desktop.
Please advise.

You can check the repositories at slackbuilds.org or slacky.eu to see if what you need is already there. If not, you can use src2pkg or even better make your own slackbuild script.

Just so you understand clearly, slackBuilds.org does not host packages, but rather build scripts to create custom packages from source. They are extremely easy to use and there is a howto on the site. Once you have a package all you have to do to install it is run installpkg.

@IwannaSlack
Check out this page http://www.howtoforge.com/the_perfec...op_slackware12. I followed the instructions there to a T when I set up my new Slack Box and everything worked like a charm.
