Slackware is loaded, and the system is started, but the graphics haven't started properly.
I have this problem. What I do is wait until all disk activity stops then type root and hit return then enter the root password and hit return then type startx. Although you cannot see what you are typing, if it is just a graphics/framebuffer problem then you will get a graphic environment.
If that works change the start run level in /etc/inittab to 4, this will allow you to boot straight to a graphic login, then you will be able to see what you are doing to fix the problem.
