installed slackware-14.2 32-bit for first time and when I try to install patches with slacpkg it offers me kde packages?

it shows some but not all of the KDE series which I omitted during the slackware-14.2 32-bit installation, this didn't happen to me after I installed slackware64-current, also I noticed after installing 14.2 that it booted faster than my slackware64-current installation, I wonder if it has something to do with these meltdown and spectre patches.

It's not a stock 14.2 install if you omit packages. You also omitted the kde packages for the current install?

My slackware 14.2 vbox vm boots much faster than my slackware current vbox vm, both are up to date.

I've noticed this when updating them but never gave it much thought as they are vms.

I haven't noticed any real difference in boot times between 14.2 and current (x86_64), maybe a few seconds. I've had both on my test rig very recently; Inspiron 1520 C2D T7520 @ 2.0GHz & 4GB RAM. Not the fastest machine, but it is my test rig and it gets the job done for what I use it for.

But I really don't think that I'm going to be running Slackware 15 (current) on my daily laptop for quite a while. It just doesn't "feel" right to me, and it has nothing to do with KDE (I run Cinnamon and do not install KDE, or any other of the DE's & WM's for that matter).

What are the commands you're running for slackpkg and what mirror do you have selected?
