installed -current, lost keyboard input

So I upgraded from 14.1 to -current. To make the cleanest possible install, I cleared and did a fresh install of 14.1. After making sure that worked, I went online and upgraded to -current.

I have all the Linux partitions on a LVM that is in turn on a luks encrypted partition. Nothing new here: had done that for my previous install of 14.1 that I have run for weeks.

I have a laptop. The keyboard is crappy so I use a plugged in USB keyboard. Nothing new here, either.

The new problem is, when I enter the luks password, the keyboard is ignored. If I enter the password from the laptop keyboard, that works. From then on, I can use the USB keyboard.

I used pat's handy script to generate a valid makeinitrd command. Near as I can tell, it is specifying a usb module.

Can I have a hint? How do i guess the real name of the usb module?

For USB support I have '-m usbhid:hid_generic:ehci-hcd:uhci-hcd' in my mkinitrd command.

Thanks! Your exact line did not wirk HOWEVER it steered me in the right direction by giving me some idea of module names to try. Trial and Error revealed that adding xhci_pci module to the inird was the solution for my system. Thank you very much.
