install wicd on slack 12.2


hi all,
i just installed slack 12.2 on my aspire one and need to install wicd
but when i do installpkg wicd.tar.gz it says it needs to be a .tgz i made sure i got the slack build not the source

What exactly did you download and where from? You can find a Slackware package for wicd in the "extra" directory on the Slackware media or on any Slackware mirror (under the slackware-12.2 directory, of course).
