Install OOo KDE integrated on Slackware 10

The problem I run into is, the make errors out with the error
"configure: error: pam_appl.h could not be found. libpam-dev missing?" I can't find this package anywhere on the net or my Slackware cds. Has anyone else run into this problem and if so how did you get around it?

Why not just download the suite from OpenOffice.org? It is KDE integrated (it puts an OO entry in the K Menu, if that's what you mean)

The integrated version uses KDE icons within OOo, the one from the site just adds short cuts to the menu. The integrated verison uses kde widgets and a lot of other kde modules. It writen with QT to work especially with KDE. http://kde.openoffice.org

well, it seems it is looking for PAM libraries which slackware doesn't have by default... so, you could either run configure --help to see if you can configure without PAM, install PAM to see if that solves it, or install Dropline GNOME which includes a working PAM implementation (ie preconfigured for you)

Problem I have is I can't find the pam for Slackware! I've searched everywhere, so if someone has the package or source please send it to me or post a link to it.

Thanks Dark!

http://slackpacks.tchelinux.com.br/pam/Latest-9.0/

I havnet tried these packages, and technically its packaged for slackware 9.0 but it should work with 10. So far this is the only spot i found PAM slackware packages. Also PAM .78 is in BETA testing.

You could opt to compile from source by grabbing the source from this link:

Are you having the problem while following the instructions ("How to Get It") at:

http://kde.openoffice.org/kde-icons/index.html ?

In other words, on a stock Slackware installation, you still need some other libraries in order to configure, build and install this customized OO?

I'm asking 'cause I'd like to try it, but I wanted to count the cost first.

Thanks.
