Insomnia 0, 64-Current+Multilib 1

Couldn't sleep last night, so I decided to give current with multilib a test drive. Which could of been quite an adventure as I had no idea what I doing. Even though I have been using Slackware for quite awhile as a file and print server I still consider myself just just an average user. I can make my own packages and I am considered "The computer guy" to all my friends but I still haven't even compiled my own kernel.

I started by installing Slackware64-13
Upgraded stable
Installed Alien Bob's glibc, gcc and compat32 tools packages
Blacklisted glibc and gcc in slackpkg
slackpkg update
slackpkg upgrade-all
slackpkg install-new
(Not sure if those last 2 commands should of been reversed or not)
Grabbed the Slackware13-current trees
Used massconvert to convert the packages to multilib
Installed multilib packages
Installed nvidia driver

Everything is working wonderfully and I really love KDE 4.3.4. My only question is since I am running current+multilib what other packages do I need to be careful about upgrading? Should I blacklist anything else besides glibc and gcc? If the 64bit versions of the packages I converted to multilib are upgraded do I need to convert the new ones in 13-current and upgrade them?

Thanks
- Tim

Congrats on the multilib and -current64. I'm pretty sure that glibc and gcc are the only ones you have to worry about.

Check to see if you have mplayerthumbs and phonon installed as they were removed in current. It is always advisable to read through the changelog to see if there are any potential problems lurking in the upgrade.
