insmod forcedeth failed

I'm getting this when I boot up and I don't even use forcedeth:

insmod: insmod: /lib/modules/2.4.26/kernel/drivers/net/forcedeth.o.gz: No such file or directory
insmod: insmod: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.26/kernel/drivers/net/forcedeth.o.gz failed
insmod: insmod: insmod forcedeth failed

my nvnet module works fine, which file should I edit to stop Slackware from attempting to load this damn module???

there's no instance of it in /etc/modules.conf or /etc/rc.d/rc.modules

My guess would be that hotplug is loading that module for you. If you don't want hotplug to load it, add the module name to /etc/hotplug/blacklist.

Hope that helps,

Shilo
