inetd segfaults on 64-bit

Hi,

On both slackware64 13.0 and 13.1 inetd gives a segfault and leaves the theatre as soon as you enable the internal "daytime" service in /etc/inetd.conf and try to access it :

telnet localhost 13
or
telnet localhost daytime

will blow up your inetd with a segmentation fault.

The other internal services (time, echo and chargen) work fine.

On 32-bit it doesn't seem to happen, but I think it should be investigated as inetd is too important to be allowed to crash on such a silly thing. Maybe a buffer overflow ?

dmesg | tail -1
inetd[11711]: segfault at b2b76980 ip 00007f7ab288a763 sp 00007fff1fc24298 error 4 in libc-2.11.1.so[7f7ab2809000+168000]

regards,
Kees Lemmens.
