[SOLVED] in term, ctrl arrows are no longer working.

I do not know why, but my ctrl + arrow keys are no longer working, to skip back and forth across the words in the terminal. I'm getting the

I even got a fresh copy off net what Slack uses for /etc/inputrc and added the few more as I've always done and it just works, not it is not working.

You mean in terminal windows from a X session? If yes, check desktop manager for keyboard shortcut keys preferences

window maker, basic in a terminal to skip back and forth between words on the terminal line. ctrl+left or right arrow key that is controlled by inputrc

Doesn't work here either. Add the following bindings to your inputrc to fix it.

"\e[1;5D": backward-word
"\e[1;5C": forward-word

I can't say whether it used to work or not as I was in the habit of using alt-b/f for that, but the above will fix it.
