Hi!
I have little problem on my IMAP in slackware 10. I installed imapd-4.61-i486-1.tgz package and
configured /etc/inetd.conf which I did uncommented the pop3 and imap2. So I restared inetd via
'/etc/rc.d/rc.inetd restart' and it runs fine.
Now when I try to use KMail and I choose IMAP for receiving message, I got prompted error message
and it was said:
Could not login to 127.0.0.1.
Server does not respond properly:
* OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4REV1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS STARTTLS AUTH=LOGIN]
localhost IMAP4rev1 2004.350 at Sun, 9 Jan 2005 22:30:09 +0800 (PHT).
So I decided to change into Cyrus-IMAP. I download cyrus-imapd-2.2.10.tar.gz and I followed
/usr/doc/Linux-HOWTOs/Cyrus-IMAP instruction. In the '6.5. Building the files' section which was
issuing 'make all CFLAGS=-O' command before doing 'make install' command, I got error message in the
screen and this what it showed at the last part:
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [sievec] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/cyrus-imapd-2.2.10/sieve'
make: *** [all] Error 1
root@mail:/tmp/cyrus-imapd-2.2.10#
I hope anyone will help me about my problem because I need to have working IMAP. By the way my POP3
works fine and my SquirrelMail works well too.
best regards
james
