if I boot from slack-CD1, how to load initrd image file
hello!
I have a floppy, a cdrom and a hard disk. my hard disk had no any partitions, that's all blank. I build a initrd image on other box. my question is: when I boot box from CD1, how to load initrd image :study: My initrd image contain my intel-scsi-raid driver modules. btw, how to install slackware9.1 on i2o device. fdisk -l : export Quote:

no any idea for me ?
no any way to load initrd when boot from cdrom or floppy ? |
If you've managed to create an initrd on another machine - create the boot disk there as well.
Why, when installing Slack do you need an initrd? I would have thought that the initrd would have been needed after Slack was installed and you needed to get back into the system. Regards |
thx aikempshall !
hmm, I try my best to know slackware well. on the other hand, my INTEL-RAID device must use I2O modules drivers, I can load the modules automation if I can setup initrd image, and I don't need recompile kernel. |
Have you managed to install slack?

hi aikempshall
for luck I installed slack on i2o device and worked fine! I create 3 symbol-link ln -sf /dev/i2o/hda /dev/hdm ln -sf /dev/i2o/hda1 /dev/hdm1 ln -sf /dev/i2o/hda2 /dev/hdm2 and the setup can identify i2o device as ide I guess.:) |
