ical server for slackware

I am running slackware 13.1 (32bit) and 13.37 (32bit) and am looking for a simple (fully functional but easy to configure) ical server.
does anyone have any suggestions? I can't find any on slackbuilds.org, and a recommendation from someone who has used one would be useful. I need it so that ipad and iphone users and lightning/sunbird users can share calendering/scheduling etc.
currently we are running dovecot for email (imap) with directory mail boxes.

I was going to recommend that you look at Kolab, but I see they've decided to support RedHat instead of their distribution-neutral OpenPKG packaging.

Scratch their *ss off the list.

Use http://calendarserver.org

davical works great for me (on debian though - I know nothing about making it work on slackware)

thanks. I'll have a look at calendarserver - it looks like it is targeted for macs but if it works, that would be great. I have already looked at davical, and as descendant_command has commented, it is targeted at debian.
I'll post my progress here.

well i've looked at calendarserver and it doesn't install. the script that checks for and downloads dependencies does not work, and unfortunately it is obvuscated - it calls a function/script called dependancies which i can't find, even though it can, and that script needs to be fixed to work with linux/slackware as opposed to darwin/macos . There seem to be a few other bugs for the linux port as well.

Egroupware is probably overkill but I'll mention it anyway. I found it easy enough to install on Slackware; mrgoblin, who posts here, has a guide to setting up LAMP on Slackware. You could tie your existing mail server in with Egroupware as well.

Hi,

I tried Radicale a while ago.

Worked quite simple

I'm looking at radicale now. someone (Johannes Schöpfer) has even built a slackware package for it. I'll post the progress and any useful config comments I come across if it goes ok, although I appear to be able to at least create a public calendar so far, which is progress.
