hmmm. Well I will remember that when I recompile my kernel next. Right now , I am too busy. Can't take the risk of my comp going down on me now!

you can't install a .tar.gz by installpkg. tar zxvf *.tar.gz && build it from source like this:
./configure
make && make install

by the way, if you want to go KDE directly without login, just vi /etc/inittab,
find this line, id:3:initdefault:
change 3 to 4. it will works.

and can use xwmconfig to choose your x window system(kde, xfce, flubox etc).

Hi all!!

Finally I downloaded Slackware 11 thinking that maybe it'll will work better on this than Slackware 9. I didn't install it yet.
I think that kernel 2.6 includes ACPI, do you know if this is true?

I've read that Slackware 11 is installed with kernel 2.4, but on 'sources' cds is stored 2.6, do you know how can I install Slackware 11 with kernel 2.6?

Thanks in advance people!!

Yeah, you boot and install the huge26.s (or test26.s).

Read the slackbook for lots of info on really everything.

In fact I say read the slackbook enough that it will go in my sig.
