i810 driver for XF86 4.3.0

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone else knows why xine or mplayer (both the latest versions) always have a blue bar on the side of its video window when I'm using the XV driver. A quick search on google told me that the i810 driver is slightly incorrect, and a patch was provided. But this was version 4.1 of XFree86 or something. Is there another reason why I'm seeing this blue bar? Also, what's the difference between the XV and XShm?

My laptop is an Acer travelmate 610 running Slack 9.0. Its graphics chip is an i815EM.

Any help on this would be appreciated!

Same problem

Hi,
I'm having a very similar problem with my travelmate 612 running RedHat 9 (same card and driver).
I get the annoying blue bar in the middle of the image when playing any dvd with xine or ogle. I even get it when playing mpegs from the hard disk.
Please let me know if you manage to solve your problem. Thanks a lot!

Hi,
I am running Slack9 with the 815 video chipset and the i810 driver in X, but I don't seem to have any problems with mplayer(haven't tried xine) with the XV driver...mebbe its something to do with ur laptop model in particular...

bye,
shreev

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
