Thumbs up I want to install KDE libraries only. Please assist.

Hello,

I left KDE out of the picture when I installed Slackware 11 to my desktop. I knew ahead of time that I would not be running KDE as my main desktop manager. However, there a few programs that I got accustomed to using that are dependant on KDE libraries, like kedit. Also I want to install Guarddog to manage iptables.

From the /mnt/cdrom/kde directory, which packages I need to install to be able to run the programs I want? Without doing a full KDE install.

Thanks,
Hector

Here are the packages I installed on my laptop with XFCE in order to run kmymoney2.

From Slackware 11.0 directory (http://packages.slackware.it/browse.php?q=11.0)

Sub-directory slackware/kde: install kdelibs-3.5.4-i486-1
Sub-directory patches/packages: install qt-3.3.7-i486-1_slack11.0

I haven't yet installed ksudoku but it worked on my Slack 10.2 (of course with older versions of kdelibs and qt).

I don't know of a package that contains only kedit.

Thanks for your reply.

Basically, I used kedit as an example but ultimately Guarddog will be the one getting installed. I will give your tip a try this evening.

It worked and now I have guarddog installed. Thanks.

And I picked up kdm on the way, too. Am I glad to see something more pleasing than xdm!
