I want Gentoo and Slack on my system but..
My current partitioning:
8 gb winbloze
2gb / slack
10gb usr
8gb opt
1gb tmp
3gb free unformatted space
10gb fat32
27gb fat32
I currently have bloze and slack installed and I'm planning to install gentoo. Will LILO be removed if ever I install gentoo or will I be able to keep it? I dont want lilo to be replaced esp by grub lol.

Hi,
I use Grub, so I am not 100% sure about LILO, but I can tell you that whenever I add a new distro to my system I just install without a bootloader and add it to my existing grub configuration file. It seems to work everytime. I currently have four distros and XP installed, all of them booted from one Grub installation. I am sure this is also possible with LILO, but I also believe you have to rerun LILO whenever the configuration file is updated.
Hope this helps
Bob

This is correct.
I think you can probably just skip the GRUB installation when you install Gentoo and then just add an entry to your lilo.conf (running /sbin/lilo afterwards of course).

I agree with Nylex and suggest you take a look at this post: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=428252
it may help you when you need to edit your /etc/lilo.con and maybe have to mount your gentoo or slack parition and add it to /etc/fstab. It's really easy, i'm booting 4 os from slackware, including gentoo

P.S.: Don't install Gentoo.
