I plea to Slackers with captive-NTFS experience.

I installed captive-NTFS with the non-rpm distro installer. According to the output, everything went fine, but when I try to mount my NTFS partition with......

Code:
"mount -t captive-ntfs /dev/hda1 /mnt/win_c"
...as indicated, I get ...

Code:
Captive NTFS v1.1.5. Check a new version at: http://www.jankratochvil.net/

...and it just hangs there. I always have to end up killing it, unmounting the partition manually and remounting it as I normally do.

I don't even know what to try at this point.

P.S: I've installed the Slack 10 LUFS package. That was not the problem, evidently.

ntfs-captive needs to be configured first. Have a look at the auto-setup scripts for Knoppix or (better) Kanotix.

search for 'knoppix sources' or 'Kanotix scripts'

You also need to have the LUFS deamon (lufsd?) running before you try and mount like that. I've only set this up once, but I did manage to set up to mount on boot, so it is possible (assuming you are running a 32-bit kernel *grumbles*)

I've got an ICQ number floating around somewhere if you wanted to go through it in real time.

I suggest taking a good strong look at the links on the bottom of the main page, especially the man mount.captive links. (http://www.jankratochvil.net/project/captive/)

The number of options you have to pass is obscene, if I recall correctly!

Okay, there's some good stuff here. Thanks everyone, I'll be back when I've had a chance to try it.
