I noticed that when my laptop is charging w/ ac wall outlet and I enter poweroff...

It reboots instead. Now if I unplug my ac power cable from the laptop or from the wall, then the poweroff command executes correctly. I'm thinking on my last xconfig kernel config, under acpi I enabled mostly everything, even the deprecated stuff. Any of you guys know which option in the kernel config in particular would causes this to happen?

Ok just that we've had a couple of IBM laptops that do the same thing recently. (they were running XP though).

Seems to be a hardware problem and in fact one is going back to the IBM repair centre today.
