I used the pegasus kernel module with a wired USB ethernet adapter. I don't know if that will help you.

Staples will sell you a Belkin Wireless G Notebook Card F5D7010 for about $25. Works great, (PCMCIA).
I just put one in my laptop (the mini-pci slot died) booted Mepis and without setting a single config setting I had Internet access.
