I can't sync with a Palm Zire 21

Hi!

I installed Slackware with Lampp, Communigate, Spamassassin, Vipul's razor: everything is working fine.
However I can't sync with my Palm Zire 21, which is connected to an USB port.
It says: "/dev/pilot doesn't exist".
What should I do?

Hi,
the problem is udev.
you either can create the node and symlink manually linky well it sorta worked for me exept I couldnt start any terminal app, it gave an error "cant open pseudo tty or smth like that"
or you can edit your udev rules http://webpages.charter.net/decibels...rimerMisc.html
palm is the only usb device i have so ive just changed line in my /etc/udev/rules.d/udev.rules from
Code:
KERNEL="ttyUSB[0-9]*", NAME="tts/USB%n"
to
Code:
KERNEL="ttyUSB[0-9]*", NAME="tts/USB%n", MODE="0666", SYMLINK="pilot"
it works for now. you just need to press the hotsync button on your palm first, wait for a few seconds and then activate the sync software.
