Huge RAM usage?

I run a headless (CLI only) slackware9 box on a k6/2 500 with 256mb pc100 RAM.

It typically runs apache+php, mysql4 and a few background processes (muh, ventrilo etc...)

Although load averages are very low, around 0.02 to 0.1, RAM usage is always at 99%, why is this? Is this a problem? I know 256mb is hardly a lot of RAM, but it's bugging me.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice

-rich.

d'oh... thanks.

i'm thinking of upgrading that box to a 1.3ghz / 512mb RAM system that I have spare (wasnt spare at the time of building the k6).

Will i notice a fat lot of difference?

Yes, especially if you run a Gui such as KDE 3.1.x

i don't run a GUI as it is far too slow on a k6/2 (i did mention it was a headless box in my original post )

i guess i'll just experiment and see
