Add -H or similar (I forgot already but --help should help)

runningPisser 07-29-2010 06:26 AM

I remember, i tried also that, but still it didnot change/switch

the vendor number from 0x1414 to 0x140c or 0x1001

I'm also not clear which number for the vendor number to use,
I read somewhere E180 should work with one of the above (140c / 1001)

But E180 is an UMTS modem and has somewhat vendor number 1446 instead
1414 by E181, E181 is a GSM modem ...

The other question is which configuration script in slackware to use
for configuring usb gsm modem, rc.serial seemed for those analog modem.

I did not see any rc.pppd also in rc.d, but i did not install wvdial,
i ll install it with pkgtool, once i got the DVD/iso mounted ...

Hmmm... I have similar modem as yours. However, I'm not using usb_modswitch. What I did instead is:

1. unplug the modem
2. run "modprobe option" as root (searched from this forum last January)
3. re-insert modem
4. and it is now switched to modem
