HP DL320 G3 - On-board NIC problems.
I'm trying to install Slackware 10.2 on a DL320 G3 (3.4Ghz P4, SATA, 1Gb RAM).
However, for some reason it refuses to recognise the dual On-board gigabit networking ports.
ifconfig only shows the 'lo' loopback address.
Using lspci reveals that 2 "Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5704 (rev 10) Gigabit Ethernet" NIC's are available at 06:01.1 and 06:01.1 - but still no joy with getting the kernel to recognise them on bootup.
I'm using the test26.s kernel from the install cd's.
Can anyone shed any light?
HP appear to offer a set of drivers on their website for the NC7782 NIC (as fitted), but these are only available in src-RPM format, and whilst I could still get them to compile under Slackware I fail to understand why the Linux kernel won't recognise the Broadcom chipset.
Thanks,
Gordon.
