Question HP Deskjet 712C Series Printer

Just wondering if anyone has even gotten a 710 or 712 series HP printer to work in slackware and just exactly how you did it. I'm still baffled as to how to get this working, (bottom of the 9th, i've struck out every inning so far) Let me know!!

Thumbs down

I had one of these pieces of junk. It's for a microsoft(Windows) machine.

It will be better on your health if you just pitch it out the window, and go buy another printer that is either PCL or POSTSCRIPT.

Some of the newer color jets are cheap.
I use a epson stylus photo 870 for color.

Check EBAY, I got a good deal on an HP Laserjet 5 a couple of
months ago.

gud luck

At one point I had it working with redhat when it auto configured it. Right now since I reformatted my windows drive and I had to use that second drive I had originally for linux to back up my music and other stuff, I may install red hat 8 before slack and see if I can't figure our this printer shit and what they use to get it to work. (Sorry if that sounds confusing, I just woke up hehehe)
