Question howto get/send mails using mutt-like apps?

Hi.. I'm just trying to use mutt or pine to get and send mail from / thru hotmail and gmail..
(this box is a single-user zipslack distro. don't need to be a mailserver nor nothing with a similar name...I think so.. ).
Exist any -really- simple way to configure such apps to do the job -btw: I like pine more than mutt-
or do I need to deal with the 'sendmail' stuff?
-which I cannot figure what is it nor how to use it ..
very thanks

Hi minike,
That's not so easy, but not difficult either
Basically you need a program that can download mail from hotmail or gmail and emulate a pop3 server on your computer or directly store it in your mail spool.
There are a lot of programs that can do this, it's just a matter of trying them until you find the one you like

Some links:

Supports a lot of web-mails:

And there are a much more (I just listed some that appeared on a projects homepage).

thanks, bro..
well, in fact I already have 'gotmail', but I use it by itself (I've made a GotmailIncommingDir where I look for new hotmail mails.. but it only works one-way.. cannot -or don't know how- send hotmail mails thru gotmail by itself)
so.. you say if I configure, eg: pine, to read from gotmail, I'll be able to send hotmails thru gotmail writting such mails in pine?
-I'm checking all of the links you recommend-
