Question HowDo I replace my existing kernel with a precompiled distro kernel ?

I built my system with the scsi kernel and found I do not need it. I'd like to replace it with bare.i. from the Slack 9.1 distro cd.

Please verify my process BEFORE i do it.

Add the following to lilo.conf

image = /boot/vmlinuz.old
root = /dev/hda1
label = Slack.scsi
read-only

run lilo (to re-read lilo.conf)
rename /boot/vmlinuz to vmlinuz.old
copy disk1//bare.i/bzImage to /boot/vmlinuz
restart (choose Slack.scsi during subsequest restart if problems occur)
(Note: lilo.conf already contains:

image = /boot/vmlinuz
root = /dev/hda1
label = Linux
read-only

Thanks

Yep, that's pretty much all you need to do.
