How to use command xlock's -cpasswd option?

Hello slackers!

I installed slackware 14.1 on a standlone computer. I use xlock to lock screen while I'm away. Howerer, every time unlocking the screen, I have to input a long user password. I hope to find a shorter password only for xlock to unlock the screen instead of the long user passwd I log in with. So I find the option -cpasswd, but I don't know how to use this option. According to man page, the parameter has to be encrypted string, then with what command to generate that encrypted string?

Could anyone please give some suggestion? Thanks in advanvce!!!

With openssl:

Code:
$ openssl passwd -crypt
It'll ask for your password and return the crypted string you can use with the -cpasswd parameter. Have a look at the manpage (man ssl_passwd) for more info and options.
