How to stop wicd daemon at boot time?


If i do
Code:
su
password:
cd /etc/rc.d
chmod 644 rc.wicd
chmod 644 rc.wireless
will it do the job?

Try it. It should work. After all that's the Slackware way.

I don't have rc.wicd installed but it is referenced on line 169 in rc.M. It is coded to not start if it is not executable.

Give it a try.
or just
chmod -x rc.wicd

I did chmod 644 , but still i am being prompted to give root password.
How to get rid of that root password prompt?

hi , add your user to haldaemon and messagebus groups

lol , edit: I thought it was start wicd daemon at boot time.

Hi,
I had the same problem and got this help, you must also remove .desktop-files from this directories..

/usr/share/autostart/wicd-tray.desktop

/etc/xdg/autostart/wicd-tray.desktop
