how to stop cups from looking for printers
hi all,
when i use the cups web interface to add a printer (administration -> add printer) cups starts looking for printers on the network. how do i make sure it does not do this (this annoys the switches at work and my port gets disabled)? |
Not sure if this is what you seek:
Open the CUPS web interface (http://localhost:631/). Select "Adding Printers and Classes." In the "Server Settings" section (right side of page), disable "Show printers shared by other systems." Select the Change Settings button. |
This is probably the same as Woodsman's answer:
Change to 'Browsing Off' in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf. |
