how to share files with samba on SL15 live

hi guys

I'm running Slackware 15 Live on Intel NUC as HTPC and would like to set it to share files with samba.

I have searched 'Samba' in the menu as well as trying to start samba in command line, but it doesn't seem to work.

any advice?

"Starting samba in command line" usually means to make /etc/rc.d/rc.samba executable and run that script. However, before you can start samba you will need to configure samba by creating /etc/samba/smb.conf, there is a smb.conf.sample which might give some hints.

If you don't want to run samba as a standalone daemon you can also uncomment lines from /etc/inetd.conf for smbd and nmbd.
