How to set up a message board on Slackware.

I have been wanting to start up a message board off of my Slackware box. Nothing big, a small forum for me and my friends, just for fun really. I have no idea on how to do this though. If someone could give me a list of the software I would need and how I might set this up, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks.

You are going to want to run apache with php, and use something like phpbb or vbulletin. You might notice you have seen a forum with this software somewhere before:)

As far as configuring it, there is good documentation on http.apache.org for the apache/php part, and good documentation on the phpbb and vbulletin sites.

I am not making a message board for Slackware. It's just for me and my friends.

Okay... From what I understand.. I have to extract the files from the phpbb achive into a folder on my system that is used my Apache and can be accesed via the web. Then I just go to the website on my box and install from there... I just don't know how to set up Apache. I have never used Apache. Please don't flame me or anything... But can someone tell me what I have to do exactly?:(

EDIT:

Okay, I downloaded Apache PHP... I installed it. Now.. I did what the quick install instructions told me to do. Is there something I have to do to the apache config file that wasn't said?
