How to set perferred applications in Gnome/Slackware 12/Dropline Gnome ?

Does anyone know how to do that?

I love my Slackware 12 / Dropline Gnome installation but it has a couple of quirks.

One being that when viewing images with the Natilus browser, it always defaults to the Icon editor when I want it to default to the Image Viewer or even it's internal image viewer like it used to.

I cannot seem to find where you set the default for this kind of thing. Does anyone here know what I am talking about? Do I configure preferences somewhere? You help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

try right clicking on the said image and click properties and click the "Open With" Tab.

That should be one way to do it. Any radio button you select under the "open with" tab will become the default app for that type of file.

You could also modify the .desktop file in /usr/share/applications/ to contain the correct mimetype association and then run update-desktop-database...
