How to remove tab/Split menu bar from Konsole

I upgraded Slackware and now when I open a Konsole I have 3 header lines: the Konsole header with max/min buttons; the menubar with File, Edit, etc; and now a new menu bar with New Tab, Split view. I never had this last menubar and I can't get rid of it. I've tried Settings > Configure Konsole > Tab Bar / Splitters, and set Appearance > Show to "never", and Splits Show Header to "never". Didn't help. Out of ideas other than restore a previous version of Konsole if that's possible.

This happened to me too. I did eventually figure it out, but now I don't remember what I did. It may have involved context clicking the menubar itself.

delete or modify the file ~/.config/konsolerc
deleting it will reset to original konsole at install time

Right click on area were the toolbars are located; select "Configure Toolbars..." In the "Toobar:" drop-down select "Main Toolbar (Konsole)" and move the three items in "Current actions:" (New Tab, Split View Left/Right, Split View Top/Bottom) to "Available actions:" and Apply.

Actually, deleting ~/.config/konsolerc didn't to it. I didn't try chrisretusn's suggesting before I did something else myself: Settings > Toolbars Shown, and un-check both Session Toolbar and Main Toolbar.

I like your solution better than mine.
