I'm guessing you mean you want your 10/100 Mbit NIC to have a thoroughput of 1 Gbit? as far as I know, the only way to do this is to remove the 10/100 and install a 1Gb NIC. sorry, Linux and slackware is awesome, but hasn't quite advanced to the point where it can physically change the hardware specifications.

I'm assuming you're talking about gigabit speed...but it is difficult to understand based on your incredibly brief question. I think ethtool might be your solution. Try this (as root):
Code:
ethtool -s eth0 duplex full speed 1000 autoneg off
Be aware that your router and your cabling must also support gigabit (in addition to your ethernet card). If that command doesn't work for you, read the manual page for ethtool to see other options (you may want to make it half duplex, or maybe only 100 Mb/s) by typing `man ethtool`. If it works, and you want it to work at gigabit speed every time your computer starts up, you can add
Code:
/usr/sbin/ethtool -s eth0 duplex full speed 1000 autoneg off
to your /etc/rc.d/rc.local file (make sure it is executable).

Good luck.
