[SOLVED] How to pre-set default program to open attachment directly from Thunderbird

I always find it troublesome whenever i wanted to view an attachment file in Thunderbird, a dialog box appeared asked: What Should Thunderbird do with this file? Open with...Browse, or Save File...

When I click the Browse, I can't find the program I want to open that attachment file.i always have to Save it first before able to view it.

Where can i preset the default to open a pdf file or an office doc by my preferred pdf viewer or office program?

you can point to open program with xdg-open and thunderbird will open file with the default application for that filein your system. You can find xdg-open in /usr/bin

Thanks Raveriux. That solved my problem.

Now, i do have another problem in open the web-link inside my email. I click on the link but nothing happened.
