Question how to into a non-ascii-code directory ?


hello everybody!!

I am a slackware newbie, my box have several directory that naming
like this \316\322\265\304\260\256\320\241\316\336\300\265,
I ran command:
cd \\316\\322\\265\\304\\260\\256\\320\\241\\316\\336\\300\\265
but prompt: No such file or directory
who can tell me how to into them, thanks very much

but, better,

mv '\316\322\265\304\260\256\320\241\316\336\300\265' something_sane

why, I still can not get into the dir

If you use the default kernel :
cd /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/fs/nls

Look for the correct charset and modprobe it, eg for china :
modprobe nls_cp936
