That's a good link. I used it for my install along with http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle10g.shtml.

Just unzip the file somewhere on your files system and burn it to CD.

A couple of things though. Where they advise installing with `./runInstaller -ignoreSysPrereqs &`, I'd recommend the way Werener Puschitz does it (create and populate /etc/redhat-release and delete it after the install) as ignoring the other system pre-requisites checks may cause something important to be missed.

Also, for every Oracle install I've done on Slackware, I haven't created the database as part of the original due to linking errors.

To get around the linking errors:

- Install libaio;
- Run the Oracle installer without creating the database
- Run `$ORACLE_HOME/bin/relink all`
- Run the $ORACLE_HOME/bin/dbca & $ORACLE_HOME/bin/netca utilities to create the db/listener, etc.

To get libaio on Slackware I downloaded libaio-0.3.104-2.i386.rpm & libaio-devel-0.3.104-2.i386.rpm from http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pu...s/Fedora/RPMS/ and ran /usr/bin/rpm2tgz on them.

Hope that helps.
