How to install ntfs-3g.tar.bz2 Slackware package

I'm trying to install the ntfs-3g program from the following link:

http://digilander.libero.it/G14nc0/ntfs-3g.tar.bz2

Upon extraction, I see a slackbuild script and assume it's a Slackware package. Obviously, installpkg won't deal with it. I extracted it and recompressed it as a .tgz and ran installpkg, which only exctracted the tarball to "/", rather than actually installing the software. What am I doing wrong?

Go to slackbuilds.org, they have a script there for the package. Make sure to install fuse as well, they have it too.

I simply download the latest fuse package from fuse. Untar it and ./configure, make, make install, and so on. Then do the same with ntfs-3g from their site. As root "mkdir /Shared", then "mkdir /Shared/Ntfs".
Then edit my fstab (kwrite /etc/fstab)and for example if my ntfs shared partition is hda2 then this would be my new line,
/dev/hda2............/Shared/Ntfs..........ntfs-3g defaults 0 0
Works everytime no mater the distro.

true, but with the Slackbuilds you have discrete packages that you can manage with installpkg and it's kin.

I see that even more people (especially new users) are discovering the benefits of SlackBuild scripts - that's a good thing! Regardless of where the users are getting them, I think it's wonderful, as it exposes new users to the approach and introduces them to basic shell scripting in the process.
As I've said before in other places, one of the major ideas behind SlackBuilds.org was to educate users while providing something useful, so maybe we've been successful in both areas... :-)
