How to have firefox connect with dial up when broadband is no longer available?
Hi folks ; i have this computer that i might move to the country where i do not have broadband available;
I used kppp to setup the dialup connection and it connects fine (hardware modem)but when i start firefox (or konqueror or seamonkey)it cannot find the www.google server for instance. I am on slackware 12 with the 2.6.23.16 kernel. I had tried this in the past with slackware 10 and i do not remember having any difficulty with the browser. thanks in advance |
You may not have the file /etc/resolve.conf set up correctly.
The two following addresses are the same web site. Try entering each into a web browser. If you can access 164.214.2.59 but not www.nima.mil then your file /etc/resolve.conf is not set up correctly. www.nima.mil 164.214.2.59 ---------------------- Steve Stites |
Thanks jailbait i'l give it a try later and post back the results
