How to get the PS3 controller to work on Slackware 14.1
 
As stated above, I'm looking to get a PS3 controller working in Slackware. I have installed qtSixA although I don't have a bluetooth adapter yet, but I've heard it's supposed to simply work by plugging in via USB (minue the rumble and accelerometers). dmesg indicates that it's being detected and the sony_hid and joystick modules are loaded but Steam says there's nothing there and I don't know how else to test it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
