How To create Partition Using SCSI


Hi..

I'm newbie try to install slackware ver 9.1 on my box (compaq Proliant ML350). i use scsi. So the problem is i don't know how to do..i try type fdisk /dev/sda but error (unable to open /dev/sda)..and how to check the storage before use command fdisk?

Try: fdisk -l

try cfdisk, its more user friendly than fdisk.

yes its most probably /dev/sda

Before attempting to install slack on a scsi disk you must select a kernel that supports scsi. During boot from the install cd it will ask you if you want to load a particular kernel (with F2 if I remember well). Choose from the list adaptec.s if you have an adaptec scsi controler or the generic scsi.s kernel or whatever matches your controller. Then you can see /dev/sda and format it.
