How to copy/migrate my ZipSlack installed to other PC?

Hi all,

My first post !!! Thanks to the excellent help in other threads I've been able to install ZipSlack and some packages in it. Already have X installed, fluxbox, abiword, xmms, xpdf and the list goes on... Most of the packages found at linuxpackages.net worked just fine. So to all fellow newbies out there, search the forum and read the manuals , the answer most of the time is out there somewhere.

Now about my question... I want to zip up my linux directory from within W2K, put it on my USB drive, and take to another pc (to show of what I've learned).

I want it to "automatically" re-configure X, check for soundcard, find the partitions and do some other configurations for his new "host".

When I first used Amigo, it created the fstab using makefstab made by Gilberto, the author. Where can makefstab be found?

Any tip, hint, url appreciated.

Thankz in advanz,

Nelson

/usr/lib/amigosetup contains the scripts for amigo hwsetup.
You need hwdata and ddcxinfo from the kudzu packages also.
Look in the download area at amigolinux.org for fresh bins and sources for everything you need.
Here's even an example installation package:
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/...1-i586-FX1.tgz

I say example, because that's a package for the unreleased Amigo FX. There are probably some extra changes in /etc/rc.d that you won't want.

Study the scripts in your old Amigo installation by beginning at /etc/rc.d/rc.local -
if [[ -e /root/firstrun ]] ; then
/usr/lib/amigosetup/firstrun
fi

Follow that. and don't forget to have a good look at pristine. Search for threads regarding all this on the amigo forum.
